Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD) –Great Pyrenees

We offer the below options for our Great Pyrenees LGD’s:

        • Puppies at weaning:  $750
        • 1-year olds, trained with our LGD’s:  $1,750

MJ and I decided when we got our first two Great Pyrenees, one male one female, that in addition to using them as LGD’s for our flock of St Croix hair sheep, we would also breed them and raise the puppies to be LGD’s as well.

The mother and father have been with us since they were three and four months old and have been fantastic guardians.  The eat, drink, and sleep with the sheep, moving from paddock to paddock with them on their rotational grazing cycle.  They have a giant igloo that MJ made me buy so she doesn’t worry about them in bad weather…but they never seem to use it!

They are also very friendly (and beautiful!) dogs, so much so that we have to restrain ourselves from spoiling them!  All our puppies and dogs will be well loved and socialized with many different age groups.

Contact us to reserve your LGD.

      Feeding Time

      Feeding Time

In John 21:16, Jesus, after having asked Peter three times if he loved him, told Peter to feed my sheep. While a bit out context, this verse has been on my mind this week and particularly today, Easter Sunday, as MJ and I have been bottle feeding two lambs rejected by...

Chickens and Guineas and Poop, Oh My

Nothing is so enticing to those of us doing this farm thing as the words, ‘free range’.  Tell the truth, you just sighed a little didn’t you?  That’s because you don’t live with the poop.  Hint for newbies, I have no idea how to fix this problem so feel free to send...
